March 1, 2012: RIP Andrew Breitbart

Too short a life, but a very long legacy.

We were that close to going out forever. But there was one man who taught us to fight, to storm the rubbish being shoved down our throats, to smash the media narrative into junk. He turned it around. He brought us back from the brink. His name was Andrew Breitbart.

Too short a life, indeed. Reviled because he hit back–hard.

I think of four people who took “I am Andrew Breitbart” seriously. Greg Gutfeld, Steven Crowder, Gavin McInnes, and Ben Shapiro. That’s not bad. He seems to have known / introduced everyone at some point, but those four have really taken up the banner.

Pinky, I agree. I would add James O’Keefe and Charlie Kirk to your list.

Brietbart was an inspiration. He had a sound understanding of his position on things, and was always able to “bring the receipts”, as they say. He was eager to talk with friend and foe alike; and while he could be biting, he was never petty nor intellectually dishonest. And most importantly, he was neither pessimistic nor angry— he was that most attractive thing, he was a ‘happy warrior’.
