Regarding the singing during World War II of the song “Hitler Has Only Got One Ball”: Professor Rowan Cruft, University of Stirling, said that it was morally appropriate to sing the song. “Hitler’s actions made it morally correct to show him disrespect.” Interestingly, this song is part of history which the totalitarians who ruled Germany cannot now change.

I think this has Biblical precedence. In 1st Samuel 26 (today’s OT reading for Sunday Mass Novus Ordo) David and his nephew Abishai sneak into Saul’s camp as Saul and his general, Abner, are sleeping. Abishai wants to put Saul out of his misery right then and there, but David says no, let’s not touch the Lord’s Anointed.
