“Obviously you are making excellent progress. My only fear is lest in attempting to hurry… you awaken… a sense of [the] real position. For you and I, who see that position as it really is, must never forget how totally different it ought to appear…”
“Jorge? Ted. You’re not busy are you?”
“No, just doing that audience stuff, Que pasa?”
“The Committee wants to know why you haven’t excommunicated all the trads yet. We haven’t got forever, you know. You have to do that before you can decree that same sex relations aren’t sinful, or else all Hell will break loose.”

“Pope Francis’ response seems to me to be uncharacteristically heavy-handed. Whereas he has a long history of advocating for dialogue with adversaries, arguing that unity cannot be attained by the suppression of one group by another, Francis appears now to be choosing just that—suppression.”
@David WS: fascinating. Proof once more that leftists, who specialize in projection, are unable to recognize projection when they see it, often experiencing cognitive dissonance as a result. There must be a psychological parable in there somewhere.
