Ah to have been a fly on the wall during those conversations.

I don’t know that liberals/radicals like classical music. It’s those who see the good in the past who like classical music. So, I don’t understand the comment

Thomas is not only wary of patronizing leftists, he is not much warmer toward patronizing conservatives.

The last classical concert I attended began with an acknowledgement of the Native American tribes who originally held the land, and included a piece from a non-white female composer (neither bad nor particularly interesting). If anything, they probably get a little more…you know, the way they get…when they’re indulging in Western culture. Don’t picture a 30-year-old atheist; picture a 60-year-old Episcopalian.

Bingo, Pinky. Exactly what we encountered at the Dallas SO the one time we decided to attend a few years ago. They seemed to want to apologize for loving beauty, or something. I am content with my home audio system. There is also the occasional nice concert video streamed online, now that I finally figured out how to put my computer screen on the TV and get the sound through my receiver. (Will that sort of thing always have to be so complicated? LOL. )

I think you mean the Indian tribes who had ejected the previous holders of the land.

Huh?

Of course Thomas was jesting, but I think it is interesting that Thomas and his wife love to tour the country, camping in Walmart parking lots and chatting with people.

I’ve heard Thomas owns an RV which gets a great deal of use. Cannot imagine why you’d camp in a commercial parking lot.

They’re also clean, safe (relative to surrounding areas, WalMart tends to have VERY good relations with the police– it’s rare when there is one that drops to the local levels of manners re: law enforcement) and well-lit.

The only problem is that they can be a bit noisy.
