This is brilliant.
It is truthful and exactly how I feel.
Get a therapist?
Unfortunately many of them tell them to do and behave just as their doing and behaving.
We call them..the-rapist.
[Kudos to SNL and the Jeopardy skit]
I’m afraid the therapy culture is part of the problem. We would benefit if public institutions assumed people were instructed by their parents to be in command of themselves and learn to complete tasks even when in a state of subjective emotional distress. Worked for my parents’ contemporaries.
Troublesome people have been getting a lot of positive feedback from officialdom for being self-centered, exhibitionistic, and obnoxious. The therapists encourage this (at least up to the point where the bad behavior is making their world worse to such a degree that the fee income isn’t worth it).
Child psychologist went through a phase telling parents “don’t scold your child because it will hurt their self esteem”. Now they are advising “too much praise will stunt their growth”. It’s the old- create a problem to create a job who will find a solution to the problem created.
