Always classy, that’s our Pope, as he backhands any moral, legal and health concerns that Catholics may have about a rushed vaccine that has had a not insignificant number of reported immediate health problems for some who have been vaccinated. Vaccines additionally that seem to be frequently failing at their principal task of guarding against reinfection. One would think this is a matter where the Pope would honor personal conscience and prudence. One would hope in vain. Our popes get their title due to their being the father in Christ of Catholics. Our current Pope is an extremely abusive Dad.
I wonder if his irony of life principle applies to AIDS victims.
During the Papacies of John Paul II and Benedict XVI, I used to pray to have the Faith they had. Now I pray Francis has the Faith I have.

Schadefreude is a great look from this guy. I’m sure the Heavenly Father heartily approves and won’t count it against him.

He’s nothing like any model of good fatherhood, biological or spiritual, I have ever seen. So I won’t call the pontiff the shorter version of his title, apart from the very rare occasions where he demonstrates something approximating healthy fatherhood.

My guess is that Cardinal Burke has been offering up all of his sufferings in union with Christ’s on Good Friday, for the conversion of sinners, heretics and help for Catholics living under the CCP.

“Detesting” this Pope (to use your own words) is not classy. It sounds sinful to me. Sure wish Cardinal Burke would have taken the vaccine because he is a good man. ICU rooms are overflowing because some people refuse a morally licit cure. Conservative = Prudent
Joel, a vaccine isn’t a cure. It is supposed to be at best a preventative. My sister-in-law received her second jab the end of Jan ’20. Mid August she tests positive for COVID and she still has some symptoms a month after onset with treatment.
COVID statistics: If a person enters the hospital ER with a sprain and his COVID test is positive, he is told to quarantine at home and he hobbles out with a wrapped ankle. That ER patient is on record as a COVID hospitalization and the hospital receives fed COVID money. He wasn’t admitted to a ward (hospitalized) but he was IN the hospital.
And Cardinal Burke is out of ICU (as of a couple of weeks ago) and recovering. Meanwhile there is growing evidence that the “vaccines” may actually be no more effective than a normal flu shot, which does nothing but reduce, in theory at least, the number of people to whom one can spread the illness if, and only if, one has symptoms. It does not keep one from getting sick in the first place.
I used to have a bad case of FDS (Francis Derangement Syndrome), but got over it after the Pope ruled against ordination of women, in favor of priestly celibacy, defense of traditional marriage,, etc. – It is true that the Covid vaccine is only about 75% effective. I work at a hospital and 85% of covid cases are among the unvaccinated…

The announcement on his Twitter feed was that he was slated to be transferred to a normal bed that day, not that he had been transferred. His office conveyed a note of thanks from the Cardinal on 28 August and there has been nothing since. The radio silence is disconcerting. He’s been in the hospital for 35 days. I’m recalling Herman Cain’s tour through hospital care. Every few days there would be a message purportedly from Mr. Cain to the effect of ‘my doctors tell me I’m coming along’ or some such. Then came the announcement he’d died. He was hospitalized for 28 days.
