Norm Macdonald has died, far too young, at age 61 after a nine year fight against leukemia. Perhaps the most brilliant comedian of his generation, he was actually funny, instead of relying on insults, profanity and Leftist talking points. A man of faith as well as humor, he had little time for the popular pieties of the entertainment industry and relished in skewering them.

A comedian has two duties: to be funny and to be fearless, at least if his jokes touch upon current events. Macdonald satisfied both categories. I hope God, who has an infinite sense of humor, is a fan.

He was legendary at the Bob Saget roast, doing deliberately unfunny jokes in such a way they became hilarious.

You got it mostly right. Norm was brilliant. But if you watch videos from his podcast, you will hear some profanity that would horrify some, even many, folks.
True, especially in his younger days. However he rarely relied upon it for his humorous point.
