Whoosh, that’s a pretty firm tweet.
Both Bishop Barron and Professor Peterson produce strong responses; regardless of whether you like them or not this is a very interesting conversation. Professor Peterson is obviously struggling to find his Faith. In a previous interview with Jonathan Pegeau (https://youtu.be/Lysz7RvfTVc) Peterson argues that believing in God is “scary” because you are then obligated to live a certain way. In this interview he argues that believing in God calls you to lead a heroic life. We are all called to be Saints is not an original thought but it is not one we hear often in this day and age. Consider including in your prayers a petition for the conversion of Professor Peterson
His follow up tweet: “I do not intend to disparage trans people. I see that my academic “Discuss” question has been misconstrued as such and I deplore this. It was also not my intent to ally in any way with Republican bigots in US now exploiting this issue.” Dawkins is an intellectual bigot. It must feel life-fulfilling for him knowing he built an entire career out of denying God and mocking those who believe in Him. He’s bitten the hand that feeds him and now he is paying for it. Too bad.
I like Jordan Peterson very much, and always get a lot from him
Bishop Barron irritates me.. when I heard him talk a a conference he preened a bit about his tenure teaching priests and claimed that we midwesterners in his audience probably had many of the priests he had formed.. The quietness of the audience at that point was noticeable.
