I swear that there was an incident like this in The Claw of the Conciliator, where Severian reads a story from his book of legends involving an army that dressed in green fighting an army that dressed in purple. I just finished rereading the book a couple of weeks ago and recall being reminded of this episode of Babylon 5 while doing so. But now I cannot find the relevant passage.
