You’ve Come a Long Way Baby

News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:

CHICAGO, IL—According to sources, local business analyst Abby Staughton has finally escaped the shackles of the patriarchy to find freedom and worth in an 80-hour work week, working for an overbearing boss.

“This is true happiness,” said Staughton as she sat through her fourth meeting of the day discussing first-quarter sales figures for Melcorp Corporation. “My feminist ancestors fought so I could answer to 12 different middle managers in a thankless job before going home to an empty apartment and drinking wine. I have reached the pinnacle of womanhood.”

Staughton has said that while she has to deal with unreasonable demands from male co-workers and sometimes even sexual harassment, at least she doesn’t have to live a boring life of homemaking with a husband and kids.

“I don’t want all that domestic suburban bliss, because that’s not feminist,” she said aloud as she daydreamed about being barefoot in the kitchen with a rich lumberjack husband.

Go here to read the rest.  People who derive their chief satisfaction in life from their work generally have pretty pathetic lives.  You work to live, not the other way around.  At the law mines the policy is family first, and I have lived up to that  with my employees, at some monetary cost.  Money and work come and go, but family remains, or at least it should.

In the final analysis isn’t it all about love? The soulless drive to be the women; “Obedient women never made History,” in the bumper stickers, leaves out the most important element. The ability to love.

To love is the ultimate sacrifice and goal of the gift of life on earth. To give life.

“Life is to live and life is to give, in talents to use for good if you choose. Do not pray for easy lives, but pray to be stronger. Do not pray for tasks that are equal to your talents but for the talent equal to the task. Then the doing of your work is no miracle, but YOU become the miracle…and at that point you will know the richness of life that has been given to you by the grace of God.” – Blessed Fr. Salonus Casey.
OFM Cap.

How many women have traded in the richness of life for the poorest of things? They bought the lie that hung above the entrance to Auschwitz; “Work makes you Free.”

Obedient women make exceptional history. They love and nurture life.

Brought to the Catholic Church by an agnostic Barrister, this woman is a gift to all;

“We could scrub the floor for a tired friend, or dress a wound for a patient in a hospital, or lay the table and wash up for the family; but we shall not do it in martyr spirit or with that worse spirit of self-congratulation, of feeling that we are making ourselves more perfect, more unselfish, more positively kind.

We shall do it just for one thing, that our hands make Christ’s hands in our life, that our service may let Christ serve through us, that our patience may bring Christ’s patience back to the world.”

I literally read about this yesterday.
https://twitchy.com/sarahd-313035/2021/03/10/mmfa-deputy-rapid-response-director-isnt-about-to-let-tucker-carlson-get-away-with-citing-the-mfing-babylon-bee-video/

Looking at the Media Matters tweet and the replies is an exercise in losing faith in humanity. Apparently nobody gets what Tucker meant with “it is real.” (The rest were statements that the bee isn’t funny and conservatives aren’t either.)

A Muslim friend seeing pictures of two dogs on a married 45ish female VP’s desk commented “The kids..” with a crooked smile. He has 5 children.
Islam isn’t right about women.. but neither are the Feminists.
