It has been my experience that Canadians make a virtue of subservience and worship of authority.

It’s freezing temperatures below zero across Canada. Where exactly are people gathering to spread Covid…the Canadian police could be better spending their time helping shovel snow. Trudeau will do anything to take the attention away from any number of his public faux pas.

I am ex-military, long time supporter of the police; a law and order kind of guy.

I am learning to hate police, who are willing participants in enforcement of illegal, immoral, evil laws.

They have a choice. They choose to be the arm of an evil regime.

When I was military, the UCMJ was based on the premise the law and the Constitution preceded and was above the Chain of Command. We were required, not just allowed but required to disobey illegal orders. And so, every member was required to think – know the law and be a thinking member; not just an armed robot, but an equal member of a military in service to the Constitution of the United States. No commander, even the Commander In Chief, was above the Law.

So, I am extremely disappointed in police, who take similar Oaths, who execute and impose this evil regime on us. The mullet-head “officer” who took the Canuck out of his home is a d***(deleted).

We’ve had a year of experience to learn that the lockdowns act to redistribute caseloads from one time period to another, which may have some utility but has to be balanced against the economic damage they do.
The behavior of authorities here, there, and the next place – putting restrictions on benign open-air activities and refusing to age-grade regulations – suggests that they’re stupid or have ulterior motives.
To date, have you heard of a public heath regulator who had sit-down commercial establishments put a sign on the door which said ‘Patrons over 50, outdoor tables or take out only; patrons under 50 who live with people over 50, we advise do the same”? Have you heard of a school district which furloughed its employees over 50 and carried on as normal?
The efforts of Peter Szilagyi, the CDC, and blue state public hearth authorities to give priority in vaccine distribuiton to Democratic Party clients over people actually at risk should pretty much discredit ‘public health’ as a profession. There have been for some time three sets of occupational schools begging to be shut down and replaced with sensible alternatives – teachers’ colleges, schools of social work, and schools of library administration. You can now add a fourth set.
If Szilagyi et al aren’t enough, watching Anthony Fauci spinning like a top ought to push you from a ‘no’ to a ‘yes’ mode in re disposing of public heath authorities.
All of which brings you to the main lesson of 2020: you should assume someone in the professional managerial stratum is a poseur / fraud until they demonstrate otherwise. The more provincial they are and the less their job incorporates manipulating words and images, the more trustworthy they’re likely to be. Also, the older they are, the more trustworthy they’re likely to be.

“Patrons over 50, outdoor tables or take out only; patrons under 50 who live with people over 50, we advise do the same”? “ I get what you’re saying. I’m finding a growing public mistrust of our health officials which probably began late last year. Because the health advice has not been consistent and because the laws surrounding reducing gatherings and especially the lockdowns have also been illogical, irrational and inconsistent. The health advice information on catching Covid is shady and unclear, as are the real “numbers”…from where I see it anyway. So we are a confused public verging on frustration which spills over to anger. My daughters school went into lockdown for 2 weeks last year, with the media hounding the School Principal even at her home. The school and its reputation was publicly shamed. And all because a handful of high school girls went on a Catholic Spiritual Retreat, caught it (NSW Health never determined how THEY caught it) and spread it to a measly 20 other people. One father of the students who is well into his 50’s caught it and he only felt minor flu symptoms. He is fine.

.
They are, in fact, stupid about a lot of things (energy grid problems in California and Texas as evidence), but about amassing power and playing games with other people’s lives? Oh, they are the sharpest tools in the shed on that one.
