Back during the eighties, Time-Life used to advertise their series on the Civil War with an advertisement showing a Civil War soldier with his rifle pointed at the viewer. The caption of the picture was stark and true: If the battle of Gettysburg were fought today, you would be the enemy.
I found that slightly chilling in a historical nerd way.
Much more chilling is that many leaders of the Democrat party seem to be gearing up for a war on half of America. If these fools end up starting Civil War II, I hope that they grace the mass graves that will become a feature of the American landscape. Fools, blind fools.

McCaffrey, you’ll recall, retired from the military 24 years ago. From about 1978 until his retirement in 1996, I think he had one posting that might have put him in day-to-day contact with troops or cadets other than the few in his office. That one posting was command of a mechanized unit which saw action during the 1st Gulf War. So, he’s telling us the military is shot through with Timothy McVeighs? (Note, the Army has 385,000 enlisted personnel. At most, 13% were in service when McCaffrey was shipped off to a post in Panama where few soldiers are billeted, two years before his retirement. There are 94,000 officers; at most, 13% were in service in 1994.
Remove a Media that deceives, defiles, destroys and divides … there’d be no thought of war.
Obama did his best to destroy, I mean fundamentally transform the military. Traitors like Barry McCaffrey are the obvious evidence. My Grandma used to say that the road to Hell was paved with good intentions. I guess that explains how many folks voted for Obama to prove how color blind they were, all the while ignoring what that man planned on doing to this country. It wasn’t like they weren’t warned. Anyone who describes Jeremiah Wright as his spiritual mentor is a traitorous racist.
Most contemporary Generals in my experience are bureaucrats in uniform who have mastered the art of kissing up to whomever is in power. Very few Pattons or MacArthurs around. Most deserve as much respect as a Chicago alderman. The grunts who actually do the fighting, and the dying, might as well be of another species.
Reminds me of a link I saw yesterday, about “why are minorities joining white supremacist groups?”, meaning of course that those darn minorities actually go to right-of-center events rather than obeying their proper place as progressive foot-soldiers — they really want to declare things to fit in a box, and then force it to stay in the box, and punish it for being in the box.
And are upset when people don’t respect their box of Incredible Evil as being a legitimate, or even superior, category than what the original term meant.

McCaffrey I think was a combat veteran (VietNam) and had been an instructor at West Point an at some other school. He also spent a long time in desk jobs at headquarters. Perhaps it was different in 1994, but the last time I checked, the Southern Command had 2,000 billets and its principal activity was drug interdiction. About 47% of the men in uniform were stationed at Guantanamo. Another 7% or so were in Colombia. The rest were all over everywhere in single-digit dribs and drabs (I believe mostly associated with defense attachés’ offices). McCaffrey was located in Panama. Prior to his posting in the Gulf War, he’d been at the Joint Chiefs hq and prior to that at NATO hq.
We know what liberals mean when they say ‘hate’. Liberal Hate = Speech and Conservative Speech = Hate. The thing is, even if McCaffrey is on the level, the overwhelming majority of soldiers today were not in service when he was a working soldier. The military publishes a number of academic / professional journals and there are others on the outside who study the military I doubt you could demonstrate from that literature that the military is chock a block with Stormfront types. So, what’s McCaffrey’s deal? (Other than taking payment for gigs at the networks).

McCaffrey retired a dozen years before Obama took office. I don’t doubt Obama’s minions damaged the quality of the officer corps. That having been said, some problems were there before they ever got hold of the military. AFAICT, the decay of West Point manifest in that Rapone character appears to have begun around 2004.

I second that. The media are traitors and they have far too much power. They can make an innocent man guilty in the public eye, at which point his guilt in court is a formality, or they can cover for a guilty person by having his crimes mysteriously not be discussed. They incite riots and then speculate on how their enemies must have started the riots after they have happened. They provide cover for government-corporate crony censorship (oh, don’t worry, that was just an “extremist” site that went down).
And they do all of this while providing no significant benefit to the public.
The country would legitimately be better off with them behind bars.
