Crow Time

Time for me to eat a little crow in regard to my predictions for this year:

  1.  Trump will be re-elected president.  With a great economy Trump already has the prime asset for the re-election of a President.  The Democrats, very sporting of them actually, are enraging his base with a doomed to fail impeachment attempt.  Trump has a unified GOP behind him, and will outspend any adversary, two advantages he lacked in 2016 where most of the GOP establishment assumed that he would be clobbered and that they would then resume business as usual, and Clinton outspent him two to one.  I expect his opponent to be either Biden or Warren.  My faith in Biden to choke in Democrat presidential primaries is undiminished, so I think his opponent will be Warren.  I suspect that Trump will increase his electoral win column by one or two states, in addition to what he won in 2016, and that he will win the popular vote.  Absent the fraud and Biden being the nominee a completely accurate prediction.
  2.  No change in the Senate which means the GOP retains control.  We will see how this turns out next week.  If both Republicans win, the Republicans will have a 52-48 margin, one down from this Congress.
  3.  The Republicans have a lot of ground to make up in the House, but I expect them to take control, probably narrowly.  Close but no cigar.
  4.  The Cubs will not win the World Series.  I do not think I will live long enough to see the lightning strike again.
  5.  Financial scandals will beset the Vatican with revelations which will shock the most cynical of observers.  Pretty much on target.  The money that the Vatican sent to Australia, perhaps to buy the prosecution of Cardinal Pell, is especially shocking.
  6.  A major advance in the path to a faster than light drive.  Nope, although some interesting theoretical work is being done.
  7.  Cardinal Pell will win his appeal and his conviction will be overturned.  Yes, praise God.  A lot remains to be learned about that prosecution and possible Vatican involvement in bringing it about.
  8.  Hong Kong unrest will spread to the mainland of China with the Communist regime facing its gravest challenge since it came to power in 1949.  Not yet, but it is coming.
  9.  The reign of the mullahs will end in a bloody revolt in Iran.  Not yet, although Iran has seen the worst riots since the fall of the Shah in 1979.  The response of the mullahs is that the beatings and executions will continue until morale improves.  When Iran does finally explode it will be heard around the world.
  10.  McClarey will be wrong in some of his predictions.  Always the safest of predictions.

Who could have guessed 2020 would be the year of Black Swans: Covid world wide hoax “pandemic”, a nitwit candidate for President who “wins” by voter fraud, a cowed masking wearing American public, free money for nearly everyone, etc.

Best news of the year: The arrival of Archbishop Vigano.

Hopefully 2021 will be the year the American public wakes up and fights back. And hopefully, “Pope” Francis will be gone by the end of the year.

I’m hoping 2021 will be something like 1861.

Don’t tell me Biden won. It insults my intelligence and makes me very angry. [hat tip to Michael Corleone] We were robbed last November.

Resist.

Don, you can hardly blame yourself for failing to foresee the great Covid scam and the even greater electoral fraud it allowed to happen.
I keep telling myself “God’s will, not my will.” And obviously that is true. So is “God wins in the end.” But what worries me is how we get from here to there.
Keep those Rosaries coming, folks. Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to all.

Given the oddity of the year, you did pretty well. I’m so glad about Cardinal Pell. It was one of those moments both personal and hugely symbolic. I know there will be more horror stories about clergy – there always are – but that felt like the last paragraph in a chapter we’re all happy to be done with.

Look at it as an alternative universe–somehow, those of us reading TAC got switched into the wrong one. The question is, how to get back to the right one. (See “Quantum Leap.”)

Here’s a pretty safe prediction. Pope Francis won’t say Jack Squat publicly about his homeland of Argentina legalizing abortion.

diBlasio, his gruesome wife, and the modal type among partisan Democrats want more of this.

It’s only a matter of time before one of these motorists are going to come out of their car with a gun and start blasting these bastards. This will be one of the bitter fruits of the labor of the defund and demonize the police crowd.

And thanks to George Soros, there are more and more DAs willing to accommodate them.

“Girls can be Boy Scouts”
Nope. There are no more “Boy Scouts”. In the BSA youth program formerly known as “Boy Scouts”, officially they now only have “Scouts” who are male and female. They have abandon why they were created (see the Congressional Charter), who they were, all they stood for and against. It’s why I left it after volunteering for 17 years.

Thanks Ernst. My boys are older now, but I found a Trail Life troop start up near me and I’m making a donation for camping gear.
