An entertaining film though the title character was sanitized a bit more than I like in historical dramas
It was based on romances that arose about the Cid over the centuries since his death and had little to do with the 11th century warlord of history. However the look was tremendous, with some set scenes looking as if they were taken from the decoration of a medieval manuscript.
