Most well known politicians who become cabinet officers do little good for their political careers, usually it being a large step towards being a man of yesteryear. Rubio is a great exception as Secretary of State. He has become a great favorite of most of the American people, with the meme coverage being done fondly. He will be President one day at this rate.

I was not impressed with Rubio as a presidential candidate in 2016. I found his earlier Gang of Eight participation an act of betrayal. In fact, I still do. However, his performance as Secretary of State has been stellar. Barring any future change for the worse, this would be a fitting atonement.
Does this make him presidential timber? Perhaps. I’m not completely convinced. But it does merit serious consideration.
