This brings to mind my favorite story about St. Teresa, one of my favorite Saints. She was, according to legend, on one occasion physically assaulted by the Enemy himself, who invaded her bed chamber in the night. It is reported that she was at first fearful that a burglar had broken in, but when she looked closely at him, she recognized the Enemy, laughed, and said “Oh, it’s only you” and went back to sleep.

Can you imagine the laughter that erupted in the great halls of Heaven when St. Teresa humiliated that pest? Great story, whether fact or fiction.
