LeoWatch: Respect for Individuals

When  the phrase “respect for individuals” is trotted out by contemporary clerics, it is a magical incantation to get around laws and counter arguments.  Don’t like capital punishment?  Respect for the condemned murderer should cause us to ban it.  Engaged in a just war?  You only think your cause is just, while respect for individuals says otherwise.  Believe that the immigration laws of your country should be enforced?  Respect for individuals says no.  Think that the welfare state is too big?  Respect for individuals says that you ain’t seen nothing yet.

The shell game going on here, is that when the phrase is employed, other groups are usually told to go pound sand.  In the case of illegal aliens it is everyone harmed by illegal aliens.  In regard to the death penalty it is everyone who has a family member murdered.  In regard to a just war, it is everyone who will bear the consequences of “give peace a chance”.  In reference to welfare states it is all who recall the admonition of Saint Paul:  “Those who will not work should not eat.”

It is a verbal sleight of hand, usually dishonest in its formulation.  It is the speech equivalent of kicking over a chess board in order to “win”.  It is an irrelevant ad hominen argument which presupposes at the outset that counter arguments have no validity and only bad people raise them.  Such a mode of debate is worthy only of scoundrels and certainly not of the Vicar of Christ.

A lot of handwashing by the Supreme Pontiff and his court is going on about the violence, crime, aggression, economic toll, and the refusal of “migrants” to integrate and respect their new country.

Lampedusa, the island possession of Italy, where P.Leo’s predecessor made a grandstanding act of welcome, is a disaster. 6000 Lampedusans are singularly oppressed and harassed every day by about 12000 North Africans.

P Francis is gone to heaven for a talk with Jesus, but their lives are hell.

I shall give His Worthlessness the same individual respect that he gives to Donald Trump, MAGA supporters, Chinese Catholics, Traditionalists in the Diocese of Charlotte, NC, SSPX, Bishop Athanasius Schneider, Bishop Joseph Strickland, Cardinal Joseph Zen Ze-Kiun, etc. ad nauseam. I am done with liberal progressive Democrat clerics, whether priest, bishop, cardinal, or Pope. That man needs to shut his accursed mouth and repent.

Pope Leo criticized blanket “remigration” as a solution to the migrant crisis in Europe, saying it doesn’t respect the personhood of foreigners.

… And if those foriegners don’t “respect the personhood” of the citicens of the nation they’ve migrated to?

We really need to look at the cases, and above all, treat people with respect as individuals.

When there’s a hole in the boat, the crew doesn’t have the luxury of considering the individual droplets of water … They need to plug the hole and start bailing!

How about some respect for the personhood of the more than 250,000 young British girls raped and tortured by “migrants”, 95 percent of whom were adherents to the false “religion of peace” these clowns in sacred vestments think is so wonderful? Pope Bob needs to read the newly published report on the migrant scourge in the UK before he starts lecturing on the topic again.

So… we “must” accept any and all “migrants” from places that have “violence, war, and conflict” because any attempts to combat such bad actors in the countries they flee cannot be “just war.”

BTW- what about migrants who are *not* fleeing horrible conditions and just decide they deserve the fruits of Western Civilization more than those who have properly requested to share in such fruits?

BTW- what about migrants who specifically come in order to destroy Western Civilization and replace it with their own?

Nah – avoid the hard questions that require serious thought and cater another grand synodal meeting. We got a few more churches we could close to cover that, right?

The civil wars in Afghanistan, Syria, and Libya are over, that in the Kurdish zone of Turkey long over. There is no demographic segment within Afghanistan that does not have a sister population in an adjacent country; any in Dutch with the Taliban can certainly be resettled in one o fhose places. Syria is an Arab country surrounded by Arab countries. Ditto Libya. The only people from these places which should be resettled in the West are a modest number in Afghanistan who were employed by the western military and intelligence services (and their families).

Leo either does not know this or he does. Neither option speaks well of him.

NB, when progtwits complain about ‘mass’ anything (‘mass incarceration’, ‘mass deportation’, &c) the complaint is that any at all is being undertaken. Start probing and ask them what should be done in lieu of what is being done. You won’t get a straight answer because they don’t want anything done but to generate more jobs for social workers, schoolteachers, and ‘public interest’ lawyers.

Progtwits refuse to acknowledge there are such people. Or, when cornered, pretend that anyone from a country with a lower standard of living should be permitted to settle here on their own discretion.

In ways it looks like Western Europe may be going the way of Lebanon.
