“God save this court” is no longer said.
I don’t think it ever was for most trial courts. It is still said before a public hearing at the US Supreme Court. The phrase is “God save the United States and this Honorable Court”.
Yeah, is he paid restitution for the 3 years?
I doubt it. The fact that he was denied bail for three years when he was not a threat to the community, however, might be a basis for some sort of federal suit against the prosecutors involved for deprivation of civil rights.
There should be an automatic indemnity for any person subject to pre-trial detention where the eventual resolution results in a sentence less than time served.

ff they had private representation, an indemnity for their lawyers should come right out of the prosecutor’s budget. Sterling case: Oliver North, subjected to a 23 count indictment that eventually led to a conviction on three counts, which convictions were later vacated.

Glenn Reynolds has been making the case that the comprehensive immunity enjoyed by prosecutors and judges was invented by courts and should be eliminated.
Asian store owner.
Black gangster shoplifter.
Why do black gangster thugs get preferrential treatment? BTW, if when I was 14 years I had done something like that and I survived to tell the tale, my Dad would have beaten my a$$ so much that I would wish the store owner had shot me dead.
BTW, when a gang of young hoodlums from Bethel starting harassing and threatening the prophet Elijah at the end of 2nd Kings chapter 2, God sent two she-bears to take care of business. I think the Almighty should send more she-bears so that Asian store owners don’t get thrown into jail for doing the right thing.
“Prosecutors acknowledged Carmack-Belton had a semiautomatic pistol, but they say it fell on the ground during the chase and he never threatened anyone with it. Prosecutors said Chow chased the teen more than 130 yards from the store…”
Chow said he fired in self defense to defend his son. Tragic… that young black youth think it’s ok to roam with a semi automatic pistol in tow and steal and threaten(?). Chow is not the one responsible.
Thank you Donald. I will keep the prayer.
