June 1st, the EWTN Mass was said at the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth. The woman read 2 Peter 1:2-7.
I heard the Gospel and the homily, all the words, but the understanding was not with me. I was totally out of it and did not recover for about fifteen minutes.
Women on the altar is destructive.
My other upset comes when the priest leaves Jesus Christ on the altar to give the kiss of peace to the surrounding priests as though all men, priests, women and children are not in the Sacred Heart of Jesus laying abandoned on the altar. This happens at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. all the time.
It is just plain upsetting.
Pope Benedict XVI tried to have the kiss of peace moved to before Consecration, but the powers that be kept the ignorance to Christ.
WHY are we FORCED to stand, to line up to single file, and receive from lay ministers??? Besides being dumb this increases the potential abuse from a person walking off with the Host.

But … the chaos often seen at our altar rail is saddening too … a microcosm of the after-Mass parking lot situation.
I really wish a bishop would decree a minimum attendance number for the use of “extraordinary” ministers. Something along the lines of “If the congregation exceeds 100 likely communicants, the priest may, at his own discretion, employ an EM. Provisions for infirm priests will be made on a case by case basis only.”
It could also get many EMs interested in increasing Mass attendance, which would be a *much* more useful thing than shortening the time required for Mass.
I was told in 2004 that Bp. Moynihan’s policy was to make use of extraordinary ministers, so the circulars from the Congregation for Divine Worship would be ignored.

Outside of Christmas and Easter, I’ve never attended a service where the use of extraordinary ministers had any utility apart from pleasing people who wished to be extraordinary ministers.

Nowhere does Sacred Scripture say women be submissive to men. Nowhere.
The feminists grabbed an error and ran with it corrupting the entire culture for many generations. The National Organization of Women (NOW) has vowed to eradicate men, the family and all masculinity from our culture. NOW exhibits unbridled ignorance.
Simone de Beauvoir, disciple of John Paul Sartre, wrote a book The Second Sex, condemned by the Church, in which de Beauvoir claims that females are slaves to males, human beings create by God unequal.
God being male de Beauvoir remained an atheist. De Beauvoir secured male children for Sartre’s lust. Both condemning the laws against child rape. Both fighting for the release from prison all child molesters. Trampling all right reason, both Sartre and de Beauvoir spent their lives serving a lie.
Children will have informed sexual consent when they become emancipated at eighteen years of age, not before. These are the laws of Nature.

I was in Church once when a boy put the Host in his pocket. I shouted “NO”. The boy took the Host from his pocket and he consumed the Host.
I understand completely why it’s important to have liturgies conducted reverently and according to the rubrics, and I don’t like blatant liturgical abuses any more than you all do… but anymore I find it hard to get wound up about things that are (for better or worse) still officially approved by the Church, such as altar girls, lay Eucharistic ministers, Communion standing/kneeling/in the hand/on the tongue, etc. I’m just grateful I still have a parish to go to with priests who are reasonably reverent and orthodox and that I can make it there every week.
There is a corollary that is important because it proves de Beauvoir and Sartre wrong.
Husbands and wives are vocational offices to which men and women are called. Men and women called to the office of husbands and wives in the Sacrament of Matrimony must give informed consent of their free will or the Sacrament of Matrimony is invalid. No informed consent or freely given consent invalidates any vocation to husband and wife in the Sacrament of matrimony.
Therein comes annulment. Some people call annulment a Catholic divorce. Nonsense. Annulment means that there was never Matrimony because of an impediment such as having not fully informed consent or coercion, or immaturity or consanguinity or other defect in the requirements for the Sacrament.
Fully informed consent and an act of free will is required of both man and woman to enter into the office of husband and wife in the Sacrament of Matrimony. Therefore, both man and woman are equal in fulfilling these requirements.

I get edged out by the extremes. Left in left field on my face.
I go to Church to see Jesus. It is the power struggle that floors me. I felt sorry for the woman reading Peter for she did not know any better.
