The professional-managerial class in the occidental world are the worst to date.
Orwell wrote 1984 as a cautionary tale, not a plan to follow. Once you take away the means to oppose tyranny, the loss of all the rest of the rights necessarily follow. Then you blow up the economies through engineered pandemics making people dependent on the government to eat. You will own nothing and like it. And you will eat bugs even if you don’t like it. I just hope they don’t go all the way to Soylent Green.
And this has been going on in Ireland for decades. Every immigrant to this country that I’ve met from Ireland had a deep abiding hatred of the church even while the church was taking care of their aging parents that they left behind. I know I’m casting too broad a brush but you don’t get the overwhelming public votes for the satanic mockery of “This is my body” as justification for killing your own baby without having lost the Faith generations ago.

The Rosary will prevail.
Utterly heartbreaking. I think your problem has been that, especially for the last 50 years, the Irish intelligentsia has been too linked to the USA and the UK wanting to identify with it. Like the “Catholic” so-called intellectuals in the establishment here in US academia, they want to distance themselves from “archaic” Catholic thought and be “with it.” As a result, they depopulate themselves, and commit a suicide on their own formally glorious heritage. What made them cheerful, friendly, pugnacious, loyal and brave, is now being evaporated. Breaks my heart!
