Today we raise sparrows intentionally.
In a land void of hope eagles become things of myth and legend. Socialism, they will say, is our hope for the future.
I, myself, was raised a sparrow.
When raising my sons, it has often been hard to decide whether they are being to much the eagle or I too much the sparrow.
I know that I am no TR. They are more men in the arena than I will ever be. I am confident that Christ will mend the faults of eagles and sparrows so long as we all know Him as our keeper. He has both grain and meat in His barns. It may be that the sparrow must learn to eat more meat than he would, and the eagle must sometimes sup on grain, but what is that to me – I will eat what He serves.
It seems to run in families. TR Jr died of a heart condition he knew he had after leading a division on Omaha Beach in WW II.
I have it on good authority that he was worth many sparrows 🙂
