Yeah, don’t seem to remember any such attempts. They would have been front page news for weeks, if not months. The media would have been wringing their hands incessantly about weaponry and how to restrict the citizenry from acquisition thereof.
Now? 48 hours and *poof* gone. Or gaslighting takes place. Or both.
With a notable exception of John Kennedy who would probably be a republican today, most of those “assassination attempts” against Democrats were nasty words that never matured into action. Somehow, they all got caught before any significant action matured into a real act of violence. Shocking, I know.
If you want to use nasty words as an assassination attempt, just turn on any evening news program. Or listen to any Democrat in Congress. The ones that mature into real violence are typically against Republican presidents.
“With a notable exception of John Kennedy who would probably be a republican today,’
If you read “Ask Not: The Kennedys and the Women They Destroyed,” by Maureen Callahan, you may not want to claim John Kennedy as a Republican. He can credibly be called a rapist.
Even JFK was assassinated by a leftist.
The fantasist Laura Bassett is a contributor to New York Magazine and the Huffington Post. These are our ‘reporters’ today.
Now, in Ask Not, bestselling author and journalist Maureen Callahan reveals the Kennedys’ hidden history of violence and exploitation, laying bare their unrepentant sexism and rampant depravity while also restoring these women and girls to their rightful place at the center of the dynasty’s story: from Jacqueline Onassis and Marilyn Monroe to Carolyn Bessette, Martha Moxley, Mary Jo Kopechne, Rosemary Kennedy, and many others whose names aren’t nearly as well known but should be.

The intramural culture of the Kennedy family had strongly pathological loci and periods. That having been said, this woman is peddling a swiss cheese thesis. Jacqueline Bouvier was not destroyed. Marilyn Monroe met the Kennedy brothers on one or two occasions but had no consequential dealings with them (and had been a damaged person throughout her life). Martha Moxley was (arguably) killed by either Thos. or Michael Skakel, who are maternal-side cousins of Robt. Kennedy’s children and unknown to the rest of the family. Joseph Kennedy bears responsibility for putting his daughter under the care of a high class quack named Walter Freeman; it was Freeman’s meatball psychosurgery which left her a ruin; both regulatory authorities and professional guilds bear some of the blame for Freeman’s activities as well. John Kennedy Jr. misjudged his abilities as a pilot and got himself, his wife, and her sister killed in the process; he wasn’t drunk or hot-dogging around, just disoriented by haze. Mary Jo Kopechne is the one person on this list who was actually destroyed by the Kennedys, as the network of family retainers and Massachusetts pols prevented him from paying aught but token penalties.
Art Deco;
The women on your list are not the ones I was thinking of when I said JFK could be credibly called a rapist. I was referriing to a couple of White House interns who were among the very young star-struck group of women who worked for his administration, Mimi Beardsley and Diana De Vegh.
This is about nineteen-year old Mimi Beardsley:
And this is about Diana De Vegh
I have left out the graphic depictions in the book Suffice to say this book made me ashamed that Jack Kennedy considered himself Catholic.
Yes, Marilyn Monroe was a damaged person before her interaction with the Kennedys but she had considerably more to do with them than “one or two occasions.” But whatever those relationships entailed, I would not have considered them rape like the two interns.
but she had considerably more to do with them than “one or two occasions.”

Her primary residence was in Los Angeles. Between March of 1960 and August of 1962, she had three films under production (two shot in Los Angeles and a third in Nevada) and had multiple psychiatric hospitalizations. Have a gander at Tony Randall’s account of working with her in those years; much of the time she was holed up at home crippled by anxiety. She wasn’t in a position to carry on an affair with the Kennedy brothers resident in Washington. If I’m not mistaken, close students of this question have identified the occasions she was known to have been in the same city at the same time as JFK or RFK. You can count the occasions on the fingers of one hand.

Kennedy’s day-to-day conduct was unimaginably awful. One thing which allowed it (other than being completely unscrupulous) was that he had a talent for discerning which women would and would not slap him across the mouth. Another (which aided Lyndon Johnson as well) was that the men whose job was ‘dignitary protection’ assisted. Kennedy, Johnson, and the AutoPen crew corrupted the Secret Service.
Who knows how many plots or attempts are foiled by law enforcement.
The most troubling thing to me about the three attempts on Trump and the killing of Kirk is how they sound like people I’ve talked to online.
Heather Cox Richardson put considerable verbiage into pushing the notion that Tyler Robinson was a Nick Fuentes acolyte. I’m not sure she ever retracted it. This is the leading liberal pundit in the United States right now.
Laura Bassett (whoever that is) : “There were at least 11 assassination attempts on Obama .”
Pure “hoaxism.” Doesn’t provide dates nor background info on any of the alleged mystery “11 attempts.”
One of the telltale signs of leftwing hoaxism: The Law of Large Numbers. “51 intel experts.” “34 felony counts.” “Over 300 classified documents (at Mar a Lago).” “Trump mentioned in over 38,000 references in Epstein files..”
Irrelevant and unfactual false data points meant to batter oppositional belief.
But it’s all fake.
