Pio Nono was the number one tourist attraction in Rome in the 19th century, something he wryly noted, and on one occasion an Anglican Bishop of the Mediterranean region came to pay his respects. The Pope joked and said that he was told he was living in the Bishop’s diocese! I have no objection to our clerics having non unfriendly relations with the various sects of Christians, but it is a fine line between what Pio Nono did and pretending that the Church recognizes the authority of non-Catholic clergy in a theological sense, because the Church does not. Fudging this in search of the Great White Whale of Christian unity is always a mistake.

We live in times of modernist heresy that rival the ancient Arian heresy. This morning I was worried about something unrelated, but not my wife. Not at all. She has great faith. I want that kind of faith that believes in our Lord’s victory regardless of faithless clerics and heterodox Pontiffs.
Time for men to call this what it is, an abomination.
The Witch of Canterbury.
The ancient serpent whispers “Did God really say…”
response “we know better than He..”
Pure evil.
If the British Parliament were worth much, it would provide in law for the incorporation of local heritage trusts financed by private donations and municipal bond issues approved by locals in irregular referenda. The income from the trusts would pay for salaries and equipment to maintain buildings and churchyards while supplementary fund drives would pay for occasional capital projects. Blocs of time to make use of the churches for services would be distributed among local congregations via auction and lottery. Local associations of Anglican laymen could put in their bids. Clergy in Britain would be missionaries incardinated to Nigerian dioceses. The ‘bishop’ and ‘dean’ would have to get normal jobs.
LQC,
“It Is Finished”
It’s a deception from the evil one to think Our Lord.. is not Lord of Heaven And Earth.
Do not be deceived.
He is inviting us to Battle.
It would be a poor kind of love to not allow participation. Pray the Rosary in Latin (hollow point, 5 clips, 10 rounds each), it is truly a weapon.
Full three sessions if you can manage it.
@David WS Gratias tibi ago maximas. Sapiens consilium das. Sanctum Rosarium Latine quidem recitabo.
Pope condones another fake denomination or is that DEMONination? This mess will probably be coming to a parish near you and be applauded by Rome.
Hmmm, Alice in Wonderland stuff. Madness.,
This sort of stuff sets my teeth on edge.
Instead of this quasi congratulatory letter, either of the two harder options would be preferable:
1) “Sister in Christ, repent and return.”
2) Just. Say. Nothing.
Given the modern papacy, the second is probably harder. Hot mike, cold mike, no mike, there seems never to be silence and seldom good content.
At least this means that there *must* be a similar friendly letter sent to the new SSPX bishops this summer!!
(Oh, wait… I’m wrong again, aren’t I?)
ecumenism….
Ecclesiastical cosplay convention at Canterbury.
Next week, the furry convention.
Although applicable to another situation at the time, Queen Victoria’s comment, “We are not amused” seems appropriate to this occasion.
Oh, but let’s crack down on the SSPX. If they were ordaining married lesbians to be bishops, they would be congratulated.
