The devil is a chameleon, if he’s not tempting you to one aspect, he’s tempting you to another, or… tempting you to accuse someone else of one of the sinful things that he wasn’t able to get you to bite into. Any one of these things is fine for the devil who does hate Jews and does hate Christians. If he can find some angle there.. especially a rash judgment on the part of the “patient” (Screwtape), he will.
A bit on topic concerning Catholic/Jewish relations: I have a book by Salvador Litvak, “Let My People Laugh.” He is known as The Accidental Talmudist and is the writer/director of the movie, “Guns and Moses.” This is one of his jokes.
A priest and a rabbi are old friends. The rabbi says to the priest, “You know I kind of feel sorry for you. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of room for advancement in your line of work.”
The priest responds, “Sure there is. If I do a good job at my parish I could become a bishop. And if that goes well, after a time I might be elevated to cardinal. And of course a cardinal is just one step away from becoming pope.”
The rabbi says, “So that’s it? Just pope?”
The priest says, “What do you mean ‘Just pope?’ I can’t very well become God!”
The rabbi: “One of our boys made it.”

Yes except I believe Christians are still the number 1 being murdered yearly for their faith.

There are fewer Jews murdered only because there are fewer Jews. It’s like if you’re driving you’re more likely to hit a deer than a buffalo – but only because we systematically slaughtered millions of buffalo down to nearly nothing.
Marty Luther was a lunatic. I wonder if Charles V ever thought about how he handled Luther and wished he did things differently. If Luther was Spanish and not German nobody would have ever heard of him.
