How Do You Say “Mum’s the Word” in Chinese?

The Pope is full of commentary about other nations, especially the US, but silent as the grave about China.

“How Do You Say “Mum’s the Word” in Chinese?” Well, in the modern Roman Catholic it is “Ka ching.”

JFK,

Took the words right out of my mouth! I wonder what the price tag is on “Mum”…

Francis 2.0 or Puppet 1.0?
It’s really getting hard to distinguish the two.

Like his predecessor Jorge the Heretic, Francis the better dressed (er, I mean Leo XIV) mouths opinions on everything from supporting illegal immigration to environmentalism and blessing huge rocks of ice. But to defend a Catholic unjustly jailed by the communist Chinese government he simply won’t do. Bottom line: the previous and current Pontiffs are leftists. As John 10:1-11, true sheep won’t follow a false shepherd.

PS, I’m not declaring that the previous and current occupiers of the Seat of St. Peter have been illegitimately elevated to their sacred office. I am not a theologian and so cannot make that determination. However, I am simply saying that I damn sure won’t follow them, period. Will NOT! I hate their liberal leftism. Psalm 139:21-22:

21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against you?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred;
    I count them my enemies.

Very disappointing and depressing what Pope Leo said. Prayers are great, but with the treaty with China, you’d think he could do a lot more than pray. It would be a very sad day for Catholicism if it’s true that China has given the Vatican a ton of money as a part of the treaty that Pope Francis signed. Blood money causes evil in the world, and the Vatican is no different, it will cause, if it hasn’t already, great evil.

The papal stance on world diplomacy matters is becoming self-parody.

(p.s. Strom is an @$$ of the worst kind, but his quote is applicable. )

Reminds me of Lebron James and the NBA as a whole, or Ben and Jerry’s even, calling hellfire down on the USA for its racist genocidal past but then running to embrace China with open arms. As my oldest son mused some time back, we might just have been born into the age of Democracy because the powers that be saw it as beneficial to promote the age of Democracy. But now? Not so much.

“Can’t” is a strange choice of words.
Especially for a (canon) lawyer.

“Can’t” implies that something is impossible or impermissible…

I don’t know. That list is pretty long nowadays. Maybe we need to flip this on its head. You know who you can criticize? They typically hold the Truth. And who’s at the top of that list? Oh. Yeah. Christians. Particularly Catholics unless they don’t hold to the Truth. In which case then they are off limits and you can’t criticize them.

I’d suggest we start a list of who you can’t criticize but I don’t want to burn down Don’s servers.

“Comment of the week JFK! Take ‘er away Sam!”

To not award him would be an injustice.

There is little point for equivocation with the Chinese. They use it themselves and know it means nothing.
