Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
I found River Dance to be a special winner. My grandparents immigrated from Ireland and it brought joy to my mom to know Irish culture had won such an honor.
Later in her life, when dementia took over, the soundtrack was one of the few things thought brought a response from her. (Saying the Hail Mary was the only other as she bowed her head every time we said ‘Jesus’.)
Wasn’t at Waterloo (Abba), but somewhere between Kansas and Chicago.

I think Celine Dion, though a Quebec native, won Eurovision in the late 80s for Switzerland.
