When my high school put on “Hello, Dolly” back in the Seventies, there was some grumbles when a black girl was cast as the lead, but the story is fictional, so I had no problem. If you’re putting on Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar”, a man of any race should be eligible for the lead, but if you’re doing any kind of “docu-drama” about the real Julius Caesar, it makes no sense to change his race. Same with St. Joan of Arc.
Just one more reason to hate the Left. Just leave well enough alone. But I do enjoy the options offered going the other way. I can hear the outrage loud and clear and I love it.
“youth-led change”? Joan of Arc was led by God; her “movement” wasn’t hers, it was God’s. These producers did not understand the source material.
I am very annoyed and indeed angry at this persistent and myopic focus on everyone black and everything African, as though only those of central and southern African descent are minorities worthy of having special privileges by virtue of their skin color (while the rampant violent crime by black gangster hoodlum young men in America is ignored by the main stream news media).
The new US NRC Chairperson is Chinese; what about him? My wife is Filipino. What about her? One of the managers with whom I work at Neutrons ‘R Us is Asian Indian. What about him? Would we make a movie about Ghandi using a white man in the starring role? Truly I loathe, abhor, detest, despise, and hold in utter contempt and disdain godless worthless liberal progressive leftists (who, by the way, are many times lilly white themselves). They are racist to the very core of their dark and demented beings. May God Almighty deliver us from our wickedness, and when He does, it won’t be pleasant.
BTW, whites are estimated to be 12 to 15% of the world’s population, so why are we considered a majority race who by accident of birth are white? However, for the record, the fact that my Filipina granddaughter (whom I love with all my heart) currently sleeping this morning in bed with Grandma (my wife) has skin as brown as any black person states clearly what I think about racism. Anything further I have to say about racist Democrats will require me to be put on permanent moderation.
I guess the black people will attend the showing.
