Yes, they do look silly (at best) to folks who are able to draw rational conclusions from observing facts. But the screeching class collectively lacks that talent. I’ll wager that most of them either will ignore the deal, pretend nothing happened, and find the next Current Thing, or claim that their screeching is what caused Bad Orange Man to back off from his blustering. And 25% or more of the electorate will buy it.
