This seems like a statement to assuage his conferees (USCCB “brothers”) after recent statements he made may have alienated him from the cool table.

Heard a catholic lay professor recently compare the current crop of bishops to “jellyfish -which have no spine and no heart, but that doesn’t bother the jellyfish because it has no brain either.”

If there were just a few more Stricklands what happened to that good Bishop wouldn’t have happened. Meditate on that.

Our real problem is that we have just normalized evil and insanity under the guise of “tolerance.” It started when we closed down the insane asylums in order to be “tolerant.” I remember some Star Wars actor saying what makes Star Wars great is the fact that there is no good or evil; it just depends on your perspective. Of course this is the “new” Star Wars after George Lucas sold it to the evil empire run by Mickey Mouse. We need to go back to being highly intolerant of evil and insanity.

China is the only foreign enemy which can generate an existential threat. Our domestic word-merchant sector is, for the most part, a socially parasitic element generating a threat of a different kind. Mr. Ahern teaches comparative religion at Manhattan College, once a Christian Brothers school. My wager is that about 90% of the posing Catholic colleges could go under and the Church would be uninjured.

Just to underline, Dr. Esolen’s question is perfectly sensible and one Joe Blow off the sidewalks of Dayton might ask. Kevin Ahern won’t answer it and is likely never in a social situation where he’d be pinned to the wall by anyone demanding he answer it. These are our professors.

It can be seen all over the political spectrum. Crisis, the fine publication that besmirched The American Catholic, published a screed bemoaning the arrest of Maduro and how it would destabilize the world…and..it did not fit the just war theory.

Even Senaus Fidelum has become an Orange Man Bad outlet.

Check out pro Ukraine content on YouTube. Trump is the bad guy, just as bad as Putin.

I laugh at Europe getting all bent out of shape over Greenland. As if the petulant European countries are going to band together to repel the evil USA from taking Greenland…..

Remember the song Love is in the Air? Well..

What “bravery” does it take to protest in America on the side that the “cool kids” favor???

I have the impression that Crisis fell under the control of a palaeopest element about ten years ago. It seems to me there was a new editor who was previously employed by ISI Press. I was banned from their comment boards after chastising one of the Joobabblers who occasionally appeared there. Some years later, they shut down the comment boards entirely.

I do wish Trump would stop shooting off his mouth about Greenland.
