Burn of the Day

It’s been amusing to read the European Union and the EU adjacent like Canada, huff and puff on line and declare that they don’t need the US, and they will take on Russia.  The EU has the potential to stop Putin and his ramshackle ghost of the Soviet Union cold, but they lack the will to do so.  They are welfare states that can no longer afford their precious “free” social programs, and they are not going to allocate the money and men to drive the Russians out of Ukraine, even if they could coerce their pacifist youth to fight.  This is all venting by people who suddenly realize that dumb old Uncle Sam is likely not going to pull their chestnuts out of the fire yet again.

The Europeans aren’t even weak shadows of what they once were:

West European publics are beginning to resist being turfed out by the Pakistanis, Arabs, and Turks imported by their Tom-and-Daisy political classes. (The East European states appear for the most part to be ruled by people who do not despise their vernacular population). The resistance is not enough, anywhere.

As far as I am concerned, cocaine addict Zelenskyy is as devious and deceitful as Putin is murderous and tyrannical. Russians and Ukrainians are Slavic brothers (almost the same language, both Eastern Orthodox except for the UGCC), and have been fighting for a millennium now. Sure, Russia is the big bad brother. Ukraine with its corruption isn’t any better. The EU, the US, and Canada should let them fight it out, but the EU and Canada won’t; I hope Trump will.

As an FYI comparison to the CDF, the NYPD now has aprox 34,500 officers, down from a year 2000 peak of a little over 40,000 officers.

Does anyone else note the similarities of Czechoslovakia and the League of Nations 1938? Georgia and Moldova today could probably provide some relevant comparisons.
