Catholic “journalism” is such a farce sometimes. My own diocesan rag, called “The Dialog” (they won’t spell it properly) just had a long-winded piece printed in it praising all of Nancy Pelosi’s “devout Catholic work” after her non-reelection announcement.
Ok then why do explanations sound like garble…
He is a very un-plain spoken American, who prefers the word salad of Vaticanese.
I think the Pope has a sort of intercontinental style of English. He says a lot of phrases such as “if you will” and “if you may”.
But yes silly comment considering the Church is universal and not American. St JP2 was Polish and spoke 12 languages and was deeply loved in the US and abroad.
