News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:
OŚWIĘCIM — Jews on their way to their imminent deaths reportedly overheard a guard at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Death Camp, later identified as Maximilian Mulka, rejecting claims that he hated Jewish people, saying, “I don’t hate the Jews or anything, just Zionists.”
“The Jews are fine,” Mulka allegedly said as he separated potential laborers from invalids. “I don’t think you should collectively judge anyone. Like, anyone. Except Zionists. They’re the real problem.”
Mulka’s colleagues at Auschwitz-Birkenau described him as an outstanding Nazi capable of killing anyone who came under his charge, be they Gypsy, Christian, or Zionist. “There’s no one better at killing Jews, um, I mean Zionists,” said Guard Battalion Commander Arthur Angst.
While leading several Zionists into the showers, Mulka casually explained his nuanced perspective on the Zionist problem: “I mean, I love Jews. I have Jewish friends and stuff. But Zionism is a brain virus from the devil,” he said. “I’m doing the world a favor by getting rid of them. The Zionists, I mean.”

In HS my history teacher brought in items his father had taken from an SS Officer during WW2, these included an SS dagger.
These objects were tainted with a corruptness of evil that one could sense. Like something from a Vampire movie.
Careful. St. Pius X did not hate Jewish people. He simply put his love for Christ first, while inviting all to come to Him through faith and baptism. He made that clear when approached by Mr. Herzl in 1904.
Piux X was a great Pope and a great Saint. His attitude towards Jews was complex. Most Jewish sources at the time thought he was better disposed to the Jews than many of his predecessors. With his approval Catholic political parties in Italy supported some Jews in national elections who were against the socialists. Pius X of course lived long before the horrors of the Holocaust demonstrated the necessity of a Jewish state.
“While bishop of Mantua (1884–1893), Sarto [the future Pius X]enjoyed the philanthropy of prominent Jewish families with which he was friendly. Indeed, when asked by Pope Leo XIII who the best Christians in the city were, the bishop is said to have replied: “To tell the truth, as far as charity is concerned, the best Christians are the Jews.” —David Dalin Myth of Hitler’s Pope page 45
The Babylon Bee has gone far down the road of “Christian Zionism,” where all criticism of the modern secular state of Israel is mocked, and every injustice committed by the Knesset and the IDF is justified, and every critic is a neo-Nazi.
So, every opponent is another “Amelek” to be destroyed. Every critic is “literally Hitler.” The Babylon Bee used to be funny.
Modern Israel is not the People of God. That title belongs to the Church. Scofield Bible enthusiasts seem to ignore the conversation between Jesus and the Jews in John chapter 8.
On a different slant: CNN exit polling —of course not always reliable—yet stated that 33% of NY Jews voted for Mamdani.
If that is true, voting for an evident anti-Semite.., It is incomprehensible.
Like Catholics there are Jews who are Leftists first, and everything else fifth. One would think that there survival instinct would kick in eventually, but there were some Jews who, initially, were supporters of Hitler.
Modern Israel is not the People of God.
That is certainly no reason to overlook the murdering of the millions of such a small people in the last century. I have a great deal of sympathy for the Jews and Israel and none for anti-semites.
“That is certainly no reason to overlook the murdering of the millions of such a small people in the last century.”
Exactly.
Think about how many Palestinians have been obliterated along with their homes.
“Last week on “Larry King Live,” Marlon Brando made the shocking statement that Hollywood is, quote, “run by Jews.”…In response, outraged Jewish organizations made it snow in New York in April.”

Think about how many Palestinians have been obliterated along with their homes.
And what caused that? Oh yeah:

I wish that Hollywood were still run by Jews. That was when films like The Song of Bernadette were made, and priests and nuns were treated with respect;

The attack on October 7th was inexcusable.
But the devastation of Gaza has been, conservatively, ten times worse since then.
And yet, Israeli propaganda continues to justify their own war crimes as “defense.” And all crimes of the IDF are “caused,” not by themselves, but by their victims. This nonsense is not compatible with Catholic teachings on just war.
And anyone who dares to point out the injustices is labeled a Nazi.
But the devastation of Gaza has been, conservatively, ten times worse since then.
Yep, just like what we wreaked on Japan after Pearl Harbor. Start a war on a much stronger power and you are begging for devastation to be rained on your people.
And anyone who dares to point out the injustices is labeled a Nazi.
Critics of Israel tend to hold the Israelis to standards that no other nation is held to, and that no nation which has ever existed has met. The Palestinians are ever their own worst enemies as this futile war started by the murderous fanatics of Hamas indicates.
Don:
The late Guy Wright, old-time columnist for the San Francisco Examiner, put it nicely: the first war Israel loses to the Arabs will be its last. That’s why it can’t afford anything short of total victory.
“Start a war on a much stronger power and you are begging for devastation to be rained on your people.”
Especially when you’re too stupid and arrogant and stop fighting and surrender for the good of your own people. But like Imperial Japan, Hamas and the other terrorists who run the Palestinian Territories, people are nothing more than a means to an evil end, especially when much of the civilian population support the evil.
When I was at the U of I Tom, a Jewish student group put up posters saying that for Israel every test is a final.

St. John Paul II called the Jews our older brothers.
“The Church” is for all people. All people is for whom Jesus died.
Greg Mockeridge: D.M. Giangreco has a book out called “Hell to Pay” covering the planned invasion of Japan. A great, if long, video, based on the “Hell to Pay” subject, is on the Military History Visualized YouTube Channel, “D.M. Giangreco on the Invasion of Japan, Lend Lease & much more” It has timestamps of the topics.

At a little over the 1:50:00 mark he compares the Imperial Japanese leadership to the Middle East terrorists, that they treat their own populations like hostages. That they don’t really care what happens to their hostages, that they have wider desires and aims.

I’m familiar with Giangreco. I have the Kindle Hell to Pay as well ad the audiobook version. Have his latest Truman and the Bomb.

==
A. Don’t attack other countries without a defensible reason.
==
B. Especially do not do so when the military force they have on hand is many multiples of your own.
==
C. Do not hide military targets in schools and hospitals.
==
D. You want a cease fire, do not persistently insist on terms you’d only get if you actually won on the ground.
==
E. When you do negotiate a cease fire, abide by the terms of the agreement you signed.

This isn’t that difficult, but it’s over the head of people who begin with the assumption that it’s an act of effrontery for Jews to expect to not be murdered. Which, as it happens, includes much of the occidental chatterati.
