NY has a leftist, wealthy, Muslim mayor. I still can’t understand the spiral into self-destruction – it’s as though everyone who lived the horrors of 911 suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth. Fox nailed it “Good luck NY, you stupid suicidal lunatics”.
How many votes does it take for a socialist Muslim to become the mayor of NYC? We know now! One, two, three……

For just over 1 month after the 9/11 attacks, Worse than Murder couldn’t muster up an abortion to perform. The conscience was reawakened in many a dulled heart.

Every Jew in NYC needs to have a license to carry, join a gun club and have insurance.
In western Europe, you might have 40% or so of the citizen population in France and Italy willing to mount an effective resistance and 30% or so in Germany and Britain.
It was a good day for the Democrats all around but most of their wins were in Democrat controlled areas anyway.
I failed to show up and vote out the judges who gerrymandered Pennsylvania in 2016. Not that it would have made a difference.
New York is dead. Forget them. Virginia is far worse. It is heading down the path of Maryland. Maryland has a huge budget shortfall and massive tax increases. Both states have a voting block of federal government workers and will vote Democrat no matter what
All political victories are temporary, save for Democrats running in Allegheny County.

Not gonna happen.
You have to jump through more hoops than a dog at a circus. Under this new ringmaster, you’ll need to be a pretty agile dog indeed. I’m pretty sure even those nonlethal kinetic guns (like Berna) are illegal in NYC.
Aside from the legal aspect, the culture there finds guns extremely uncouth.
Armed escort = prestige.
Personal carry = dangerous redneck.
I can’t explain it, it just is.
Would that they were barbarians, I’m afraid they’re far more dangerous than that.
Optimist, suicidal empathy is the greatest barrier. I stand by what I said… if every Jew in NYC applied for a license to carry and were denied, it would end up in the Supreme Court and they’d surely win.

Agreed. I did not want to make two points on my comment, so I left out the mindset(s) of the NYC Jewish community.
Beside suicidal empathy there is also:
Hereditary democrat: the ones who would vote for anything with a D next to its name out of “principle”

Time for my basic philosophy on elections that goes back to 2008 when the Blog started:
After the 2008 elections many on the Left, giddy with victory, predicted that in future the Republican party would be only a rump party of the South, doomed to wander in the political wilderness for 40 years. Typical of this commentary was a piece written by frequent commenter Morning’s Minion:
For look at what the Republican party has become in recent years: a rump party of the south and the plains, mired in an anachronistic culture that has little resonance with the modern world and with the younger generation.
Of course this commentary betrayed a fundamental misunderstanding of American political history. In that history there are no final victories and no final defeats. The great issue in contention since the days of the Federalists and the Republicans, the role of government in the lives of a free people, has remained with us no matter what names the two parties call themselves. When a party dies, the Whig party for instance, a new party steps forward to carry on the fight. The parties themselves shift and change, but the large issues involved tend, at bottom, to remain the same. Kipling wrote long ago:
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
That is sound advice in American politics, no matter if an election is good for your party or bad for your party.

Optimist, you’re right. I met one this morning. She is Jewish and I asked her what she thought of the new mayor of New York City.
She said: “ I’d rather not talk politics because my politics are not yours, and I want to remain friends.”
I said OK.
Not sure how I will not think of cognitive dissonance every time I see her again.

The contract killer is a citizen of the state. The contract killer brings himself to Justice and is executed through his own power of attorney.
Some people say that life in prison is worse than the death penalty. And what does Jesus say?
Jesus says that a millstone about the neck and drowned in the depths of the sea. (Matt. 18:6; Mark 9:42; Luke 17:2) This will prevent contract killers from scandalizing their victims.
Deterrence is very pro-life.
Prudential judgements are for individuals who have conscientious objection to Justice.
The principle of separation of church and state leaves the temporal punishment for homicide to the state.
It has occurred to me that some individuals prefer to avoid the millstone as they scandalize the innocent little ones.
The Blessed Virgin Mary is our Sovereign Mother.
The Blessed Virgin Mary’s immortal, rational soul is created in original innocence as all souls are created by God in original innocence with free will, reason and fully informed consent. Blessed Mary is in full possession of herself and her faculties.
Original sin, the immortal soul’s devastation and obliteration caused by disobedience against God’s command had not yet wrought its destruction upon Blessed Mary’s soul before pro-creation.
With free will, fully informed consent and knowledge in original innocence, Blessed Mary chose to maintain her original innocence and to obey God’s command perfectly. Therefore, Blessed Mary is able to do God’s will forever and for all eternity.
Blessed Mary found favor with God. God fulfilled Blessed Mary’s desire to maintain her original innocence for all eternity and to do His will, the will of God, her Creator, perfectly forever by granting Mary Perpetual Virginity in Body and Soul. Mary is now and never will be separated from God.
Blessed Mary became the Immaculate Conception at pro-creation.
Blessed Mary became the Mother of God, Jesus Christ at the Annunciation.
Blessed Mary became our Mother at the crucifixion and death of her Son, Jesus Christ. Dying on the cross, Jesus Christ gave all mankind into the Sorrowful Heart of His Mother. Jesus Christ gave His Sorrowful Mother to Saint John, the Beloved disciple. The apostle took Mary into his heart, his home and into the Church of Jesus with every human soul ever created from Adam until the end of time.
At pro-creation, every human soul has implicit Baptism until such time as Sacramental Baptism may be had. Implicit Baptism for us is due to the Baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River. Jesus was baptized with every human soul enclosed in His Sacred Heart and so, all persons are implicitly baptized with Jesus until individual persons may be Baptized.
As an ordinary human being Blessed Mary has all civil rights endowed by “their Creator” (Declaration of Independence) undiminished by original sin, pronounced by Blessed Mary’s maintained Original Innocence, and especially through Blessed Mary’s Perpetual Virginity.
Blessed Mary’s gift to Catherine Labore, the Miraculous Medal defines Blessed Mary’s sovereign personal space outlined by the oval frame. Nothing may enter Blessed Mary’s sovereign personal space unless Blessed Mary welcomes and sanctions them.
And because all mankind, every soul ever created is in Blessed Mary’s Sorrowful Heart, all souls experience and are protected by Blessed Mary’s sovereign personal space.
All souls ever created are endowed by “their Creator” (Declaration) with sovereign personhood and therefore all souls ever created have sovereign personal space. Sovereign personal space precludes all crime against the person. All persons are protected by God, Blessed Mary, our Sovereign Mother, Jesus Christ and all the saints in heaven.
Jesus Christ is Sovereign King and our Brother. Blessed Mary is Sovereign Queen and our Mother.

77Year old grandma jailed for saying the rosary in front of an abortion clinic. The abortionists have never read our Eighth Amendment that prohibits cruel and unusual punishment.
The problem is always that they would not subject themselves to such cruel and unusual punishment because they are hypocrites and cowards. False arrest.
