The tyrant dies and his rule is over, the martyr dies and his rule begins.
Soren Kierkegaard
In his brief life of 31 years Charlie Kirk accomplished a lot. Married and had a family. Built a powerful political movement, Turning Point USA, focused on reaching young people through debate and persuasion. Made endless friends through his personal affability and friendliness. If he had a normal life span he likely would have been a force in the country well into the second half of this century. Instead, a young man, consumed by sexual perversion and buying into contemporary Leftism, murdered him on September 10, 2025 with apparently less compunction than most of us would have if called upon to put to sleep a sick animal.
So, his wife is a widow, and his two very young kids will grow up without a father. Angels weep over such a crime and tragedy.
Like most young men, Kirk was a work in progress. Over the years his sharp edges softened and his faith in God deepened.
He was unfailingly polite with those who differed with him, in a time when such basic decency is too often in short supply.
At the time of his murder he was wearing a Saint Michael the Archangel medal given to him by his Catholic wife. She wears it now. May Saint Michael have stood with him when Kirk came before Christ.
In the movie A Man for all Seasons, Saint Thomas More tells his executioner not to be afraid of his office, because he is sending him to God. The Archbishop of Canterbury asks if Saint Thomas is quite sure of that. The Saint responds that God will not refuse one who is so blithe to go to him. Let us pray that such is the case for Charlie Kirk who, by his actions, remembered that we are all under sentence of death in this Vale of Tears and that our only hope is Christ.

😔 Rest in Peace Charlie. Heartbroken for his wife and children. I think more people followed his memorial today than anyone could have imagined. Charlie Kirk’s death has struck a chord with a lot of people.
NFL ratings down yesterday? Wouldn’t surprise me.
I wonder if God allowed Charlie Kirk to be slain before public entry into the Church so that he would inspire Protestants to greater faith without triggering their allergy to Rome.
This massive send off, the YouTube videos of Protestants going back to their churches for the first time in years…
Naturally, it would be better if they rejoined the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church, but God grants us a lifetime to get our affairs in order.
Even if that lifetime is only three decades long.
The Mass for Charlie Kirk.
