I am so old, that I can recall when art in Catholic churches was all about worshiping God. Leftist agit-prop always produces art that looks like utter crap. Pew contributions at work.

I clicked on the image to enlarge but it wouldn’t. My first thought was to be annoyed, but that quickly turned to deep gratitude. It kind of looks like ChatGPT made this.
A rather large replica of the “Angels Unaware” boat was installed a few years back at a Catholic Marian Shrine near me.
Is it sinful to perceive this sculpture as ugly? (Was the ugliness intentional? And if so why?? I try to temper rash judgement on this, but it is difficult!)
Well, at least it isn’t Rupnik. Talk about a low bar…
Rejoice! It’s paint, not mosaic.
Much easier to replace when sanity re-enters the building.
Can’t believe we spend $$ on bad art and tell the outlying parishes that they just have to merge – again.
Disgraceful, as is mentioned in many history books on St. Patrick’s, it was built on the donations of the immigrant Catholics of New York, the cathedral itself honors “honors migrants.” Catering to AWFL’s with this thing.
Great point, Matthew. Also, happy feast day of your Apostolic namesake. 🙏😎
Frank: Thank you very much!
Illegal invaders and immigrants are not the same.
…At least it’s in the entryway, not the sanctuary.
..I would like to have seen the entryway from before this was completed….
