Christ is infinite and perfect love. The cross is evil.
“We adore Thy Cross, O Christ, and we praise and glorify Thy Resurrection.” This line appears in both the Roman and Byzantine liturgies, and I can’t call evil what the Church directs us to adore.
Without Christ a cross is a particularly gruesome form of execution.
And a Christianity that flees from the image and the reality of Christ on the cross impoverishes itself
