Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

Bill Clinton is 78 years old. Hillary is 77. Death approaches, and money will not stop it.
The Clintons represent nearly every negative thing that’s been said and written in criticism of the “Boomer generation.” It would be nice to see them both indicted and put through the process wringer. Not holding my breath, though.
I would love to see the process bankrupt then, and force them to liquidate the Clinton Library (and Massage Parlor, as Rush Limbaugh would always call it) to pay things back.

I would I would too, but at the risk of being pessimistic I think the chances of that happening are literally zero. None of these corrupt politicians pay the price. And if it did happen, I would literally move into our adoration Chapel because the Parousia is imminent.
The Clintons know where all the bodies are buried, nothing is going to happen to them. Honestly, even though I’m not a fan, President Trump is the only outsider that has held any power since forever. I think the last time a true outsider like Trump had a chance was William Jennings Bryan after his “Cross of Gold” speech, and the powers that be made sure he didn’t win.
Some of us recall Michael Kinsley’s columns from 1983-84 deriding Walter Mondale as his income from lobbying after leaving office in January 1981 had generated an increase in his known net worth from $15,000 to north of $500,000. IOW, Mondale’s known net worth increased over a period of three years from 0.58x to 15.4x nominal personal income per household. Imagine ca. 2018 a politician similarly situated to Mondale ca. 1982 (age 54, married, three children, wife with scant work history, twenty years in supralocal elective offices). He leaves office at the beginning of 2017 with a net worth of $73,000 and has an accumulation of $2.2 million by the fall of 2019. A scandal, yes, but on a scale 1/20th of that you see in re the Clintons and the Obamas, much less the Bidens. As for the point of departure, I think you’d have to scrounge to find a federal politician whose balance sheet was so modest. I seem to recall that Speaker Johnson’s financial picture was similar and he was derided for it. If Walter Mondale was on the take prior to age 53, it was for very modest sums. (You’ll recall Daniel Rostenkowski was sent up for embezzling $21,000 in postage stamps).
The Clintons represent nearly every negative thing that’s been said and written in criticism of the “Boomer generation.”

People born during the years running from about 1938 to about 1957 generally do not compare favorably to the previous generation. Their most salient vices were the explosion in the business done by abortion mills and a vastly increased propensity to make use of divorce proceedings. Others would be an antagonism to military service (among the most affluent quartile, not the rest of the population), an enhanced propensity to commit crimes (all up and down the social scale but most troublesome at the bottom), the efflorescence of street drugs (ditto), an affection for gliberal and leftoid politics (among a minority of the most affluent quartile), an increased propensity to bear children out of wedlock (on a smaller scale than succeeding cohorts, however), and sexual misconduct generally. What ties together much of this is postwar affluenza which generated an absurd overvaluation of personal self-expression and a disdain for respectability and taste. The Clintons are people with tremendous character defects, but the only part of their Venn diagram which intersects with signature ‘Boomer’ vices would be Bilge’s inclination to seek out fellatio from any woman younger than his wife and Hillary’s foul mouth. (Please not also that Lyndon Johnson (b. 1908) and John F. Kennedy (b. 1917) were industrial scale adulterers as well).
