An overlooked feature of Christ is His raw courage. The above statue puts that aspect of Him in stark relief. True Man and True God, and too often we forget the first part of that formulation.

True God and True Man is what happens at transubstantiation. In the Hypostatic Union at the Incarnation, Jesus Christ becomes visible in the Real Presence.
“Jesus said: “My burden is light…”
Raw courage indeed. This is beautiful. Were all have our crosses to carry and what a privilege it is to carry them with Our Lord.
A truly inspiring image.
The tenacity God gave the Poles, properly applied, can be a truly spectacular thing.
(FWIW- the closest I am to Polish is that I was catechized by a Polish priest. A great man, who I pray is already in Heaven, but who I pray for nonetheless.)
