Burn of the Day

Too many clerics in this country view ordinary faithful Catholics, as, at best an annoyance, at worst, the enemy.  That they routinely wrap their kicks in the teeth to the people in the pews in the Gospel completes the reality that we are often led by wolves rather than shepherds.

I’m old enough to remember when the Church taught that we were to “render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s”, and that disobeying the civil law is a sin in most cases.

Oh, wait…She still does. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Immigration…..lots of noise.
Abortion…..lots of silence.

“Everyone has inherent dignity” The criminal and the criminal’s victim. Everyone has inherent Justice. Why do illegal invaders refuse to follow the law and then demand special favors….because they are pitiful criminals.
Overheard in a grocery store about the woman with a red dot on her forehead who got in front of everyone: “Special? My azz, get to the back of the line.”
Works every time.
Any jail sentence except the death penalty with the judge’s permission can be served by anyone willing to serve the sentence. Perhaps these bishops would be willing to be deported for the illegal invaders they champion…or at least give them their benefits, not ours.

Behold the fruit of the false gospel of social justice, the common good, and peace at any price.

I am proud that officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) often put their lives on the line defending us by going after illegal immigrant gang bangers, drug lords, and cutthroat murderers. Every such illegal immigrant returned to whatever country from whence he came constitutes greater availability for a hard working migrant to legally immigrate into our country. As a man married to a legal immigrant, I applaud ICE’s work.

The bishops and the USCCB never tire of making people pay for their “gospel principles.” I wonder if their desire to protect the “inherent dignity” of the faithful includes ICE agents under attack spurred on by the Demacratic Party they’re so in love with.

Let’s face it, virtue signaling requires very little effort and brings with it the world’s laurels. These are soft men who make the average academic look like Chuck Norris. It would take a lot to make them take a stand against the world.

How much would you like to bet that this archbishop votes demoncrat with all the evils of their agendas.

You have no idea how much this cleric causes me personal pain. My youngest daughter was married in the Detroit Cathedral. Fortunately, I live one mile from the diocesan boundaries so I can easily attend Mass in the neighboring diocese.

I wonder if he did a public rocession on the feast of Corpus Christi? I’m guessing probably not.

The American Church’s problem is that it respects immigration law until someone gets deported due to its enforcement.

And not a word about violent protests and attacks on law enforcement, which have soared.

Sure, rebuke ICE. They have erred. Badly on occasion. But support enforcement where they rescue child laborers and remove horrific offenders who have no business inside our borders.

The one-sidedness is not just a mistake, it’s morally wrong.

“Inherent Dignity”

Too much dignity to pay a penalty for this crime?
Too much dignity to pay a penalty for *any* crime?
Too much dignity to be shown your sins?
Too much dignity to repent of them?
Too much dignity to submit to legitimate authority?
Too much dignity to submit to *any* authority?

Infinite dignity, practiced infinitely, would seem to be the pride that leads to the Pit.

Yes, Man has the dignity bestowed upon him by a loving God. God has given us rules to encourage and protect that dignity, which is very easily corrupted by own actions. The remainder of dignity that remains after our self corruption is only because we were called into existence by Him who loves us, but hates the evil we do.

He would be better serving his parishioners (who are possible in the target line of ICE) by tending to their spiritual needs as they await an uncertain future. Perhaps even guiding them how they can apply for entry into the US legally. This protesting and whatnot is useless and self-serving. It does not help anyone. Let alone the illegal.

Weisenburger, an over-the-shoulder gift thrown our way by P Frank.

Ordinations numbered about 5 each year under Vigneron at least in 2023 and 2024, 2 in 2025.

You can guarantee the numbers will drop to 1 annually and zero under this piece of work.

Our own Cupic.

@ Frank: “ I’m old enough to remember when the Church..”

I think the condescension and the smug arrogance of the clergy and especially the episcopal class is just something really hard to tolerate.

The short of it all is that the US has the most compassionate, humane and orderly immigration policy of any country. Don’t believe? Check out France, Norway, Germany, etc. Any policy can be overwhelmed by lack of orderly process, which is what we had four years of. Yes, the corrective process, inevitably, will be a bit messy.
