I am unaware of there being an attempt to arrest an illegal alien at Mass in the history of the US. The Bishop is making a blatantly political gesture. What other crimes committed by Catholics would justify a dispensation from the duty to attend Mass?

By definition, the people who he is issuing this dispensation, are not of his diocese. They would need a dispensation from their bishop in their home countries.

Oh, Mass? Not as important as an illegal. Golly, donations are down? Hmm, wonder why that is? Oh, is it because no one goes to Mass anymore?
This is becoming a common thing. You know. The military is no longer acknowledging black veterans because of this decision. Or we have to remove books about plumbing because of that initiative. Or now we are teaching kids to praise Hitler because of the new laws. That sort of thing. It’s the next step past slippery slope. It’s not that we might have to do something horrible because of this or that GOP law or initiative. We’re actually doing it because that’s obviously what has to happen. This seems a lot like that, unless there have been ICE raids in churches and such.
Dear Bishop, Does that include LEGAL immigrants also.. And if we are an “immigrant church” as you often say… does that mean everyone?
They can’t look in the mirror, they just can’t.. after accepting over 1B dollars and letting things go to rot all over, stealing sheep illegally to fill the pews.. they just can’t.

What a great Church leader. Not even a Pope would do that.
So rather than telling illegal immigrants to rely on Gods grace – for their imprudent decisions to enter the US without papers, for their now uncertain future, for the uprooting of their families they dragged along – he is essentially telling them to sideline God in this whole situation.
