I saw a clip of him attending Game 1 of the 2005 World Series, wearing White Sox colors. Another clip of him, in Augustinan monastic robes, showing Pope Benedict a tomb of a Saint and then a book about the Saint.

The electronic display sign in the vestibule of our parish, which displays a calendar of parish and diocesan events, now has an outline of the state of Illinois with the slogan “Land of Leo”. :-). It is nice to have something our state can be proud of, at least for the time being, and hopefully forever.
