Go here to read the story. A pope’s main task is to protect the Faith. Inventing novelties that go against the Gospels is the act of an anti-pope not a pope.

***The next pope, Müller argued, should not “look for the applause of the secular world that sees the Church as a humanitarian organisation doing social work”.***
Amen Cardinal.
I had this argument with my brother last week, in which he essentially argued that the Church should be first and foremost a glorified NGO. I told him not to accept the premise of the secular world; the Church *is* its own premise, set by the Son of God himself and to argue otherwise is to indulge the sin of pride.
A traditionalist priest I was fond of was something of a critic of John Paul. “The Pope’s not supposed to say too much” as it risks augmenting confusion over orthodox teaching. Applies four-fold to babbling on airplanes.
Cdl. Mueller is an orthodox man, and even thought my first choice for pope would still be Cdl. Sarah, I have just realised that Cdl. Mueller is 77 y/o – 2 years younger than Cdl. Sarah. I’m thinking he would also be a good choice for pope, and maybe that could have an influence in getting the German Church away from the silent schism that for a large part it is in.
Thank you for posting. It is so much better to hear strait from horse’s mouth rather than an opinion piece written by lay person.
I hope the orthodox priests, bishops, and consecrated religous will be reinstated by, I hope and pray, a newly elected orthodox pope.
