The  “Après moi, le délugeattitude of the  Pope, is an aspect of the Francis pontificate that does not get enough commentary.  Francis used the Catholic Church to support the Leftist causes he favored, constantly burning the credibility of the Church in the eyes of faithful Catholics while doing so.  The utter fecklessness of this was breathtaking.  It reduces the Catholic Church to being a tool of the Pope of the moment, and lives down to the worst stereotypes of enemies of the Church.  It transforms the Universal Church into one man’s vanity project.  May God make Pope Francis a deviation rather than a trend setter.

Which is also, I suppose, why they are/were so hellbent on the Conference About Conferences – it was always in some fashion an attempt to permanentize the “Francis Experience” and prevent a return to status quo ante.

Alas, I’m just a schlub in the sticks, what do I know?

***The utter fecklessness of this was breathtaking.***

Breathtaking and heartbreaking.
The Holy Catholic Church will survive anything Satan throws at her. Damage control is what can be painstakingly long but patience and diligence will prevail in the end. After all, we know the ship will make it to Good Harbor Bay. I hope the passengers ride out each storm and Hold Fast.

I fear that we are about to find out one clause of the secret billion$s dollar deal with the Chinese communists-when that simpering cardinal, Beijing’s tool, puts on papal white. God help us all. Guy, Texas

God wins in the end. That is all I care about. When Christ rose from the dead, He showed that not even the worst that Satan does will prevail.

His Eminence Cardinal Sarah touched on this dangerous disdain for continuity in an essay first published on 14 August 2021 in Le Figaro, when he wrote: “Beyond the quarrel over rites, the credibility of the Church is at stake. If she affirms the continuity between what is commonly called the Mass of St. Pius V and the Mass of Paul VI, then the Church must be able to organize their peaceful cohabitation and their mutual enrichment. If one were to radically exclude one in favor of the other, if one were to declare them irreconcilable, one would implicitly recognize a rupture and a change of orientation. But then the Church could no longer offer the world that sacred continuity which alone can give her peace.”

May the next Pope utter “Apres le deluge, moi”, and begin the work of restoring the Church.
