PopeWatch: Weekday at Bergoglio’s

Dress down day at the Basilica indeed.  Like a lot of elderly people who are ill, the Pope is probably highly suggestible by the last person he talked to.  The seds are finally right.  The seat now is de facto vacant.

Regardless of what I think about Jorge Mario Bergoglio, this was disrespectful to him and to the Office of the Papacy.

Yes agree – it’s as though they want to deliberately humiliate him.

Yup. This was a set up. It won’t be the last. Thug life.

When your regime has labored incessantly for twelve years (and counting) to destroy everything the Church stood for prior to The Council™️, incidents like this are to be expected. It’s simply a reflection of the governing mindset of this entire cadre. The next true Vicar of Christ will need to start essentially from scratch to build a smaller, more faithful Curia to replace the Modernist monster created by V2.

This is in keeping with the whole affair since 2013.
Casual is more “genuine”. The West has lost its sense of propriety and its sense of ceremony.
Every ceremony, from the Mass itself to graduations to awards ceremonies to funerals has been degraded, dumbed down, de-formalized and thus deformed.
Modern man is losing all reverence for anything-even itself. The participation in suicide, drug use, and OnlyFans speaks loudly. Our dress is either comfortable, or salacious.

In short, I am not at all surprised that Francis had himself wheeled into St. Peters half dressed.

My father is the Pope’s age, like him in a wheelchair and needing to be dressed. I feel angrier FOR Francis here than AT him. This borders on elder abuse.

I very much agree with Tom Byrne’s comment.

Surely His Holiness’s attendants could have managed to put him in a white cassock and place a zucchetto on his head before heading out on a visit to a church, or any public place for that matter. Pope Francis is a very sick man (as an asthmatic, I can only imagine what a man with only one lung and a portion of a second lung faces with pneumonia), and he is 88 years old – quite elderly. No matter what *anyone* thinks of him, a gentleman of that age deserves more dignity.

He looks like someone in a chair at the barber shop.
