“Astro Turfing” is a form of propaganda that is difficult to inoculate against, but not impossible.
So too “Salting”, where the media will repeat something false like “cops are killing black Americans” over and over again until something somewhere happens and the media then distorts and says “see we told you so, it’s everywhere”.
Latest Salting attempts have been “transphobia hate” an attempt to Trans-Floyd us that failed because a trans killed children in a christian school, and also the violent “Christian Nationalist” phrase that failed because no examples could be found.
Education is the key to inoculation from these propaganda evils.
Simple rule. Ignore the Legacy propagandists. They don’t have the public’s interest at heart. They’ve been with us forever. They are the roaches of the Public Square. You can never get rid of them completely. About all you can do is drive them into the darkness.
I see theLegacy propagandists at work. Part of the multimillion dollar renovation of the office tower where I work are video screen in the elevators that purport to report business news…from Reuters. There are daily screeds against Trump. I look at it and chuckle….my chickens are more intelligent that the writers of that dreck.
The lamestream media reputation is at an all time low. Having said that, their standing should be lower. They have been the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party for more than a century. Musk buying Twitter and transforming it was a major turning point. CNN and MSNBC are dead men walking. ABC, NBC, CBS…have been lifting their content from the New York Times, which exists to be an echo chamber for the hopelessly out of touch wealthy Manhattan types.
