Go here to read the story. PopeWatch would not bet against there being more than bronchitis going on with the Pope.
PopeWatch: Hmmm
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
Yet despite being ordered by the MD staff at Gemelli to take “absolute rest,” he made time to meet Friday (2/14) morning with the CEO of that defender of Catholic values, CNN.
So good of Pope Frank.

At this point, I won’t believe any rumors that the pope was a dying until he’s actually dead.
Hopefully there will be repentance and recovery. But who knows?
He’s 88, he’s had most of one lung removed years ago. Bronchitis is very serious for someone his age, as it can so easily morph into pneumonia— and pneumonia for someone with an already reduced lung capacity…. Well, it’s not good.
He will go to his judgement some day, and make an account of how he led the Church entrusted to his care. That fact should terrify any man who found himself Pope.
