A simple glance at a dictionary will prove it wasn’t genocide.

The media is lying and has been since the beginning. And PF is another vehicle for the lies. Hamas is committing genocide against its own Palestinian people who are fleeing out of the danger zones. This needs to be spread widely:

Also, Bill Clinton commentary about Arafat’s rejection of the peace deal:

Hamas do not want peace. They never have and never will. It is they who are calling for genocide. Hamas need to cease.

Investigator?
Judges judge, investigators investigate, police police, prosecutors prosecute…

Popes…..
YOU have one job, one job, and that’s not it.
And neither is your job “climate” science.

Apologies – the reels seem to have defaulted to the incorrect one. Here is the first (YouTube) about Gaza refugees openly condemning Hamas:

And Clinton (of all people) who has clearly not gotten over the fact Arafat rejected the best peace deal that was ever put on the table for Palestinians:

Assuming an investigation is fair and impartial and considers all relevant facts, I see no issue in what the Pope is doing. We should all hope it provides some definitive answers.

Don

While I’m sure no reputable lawyer would approve of Genocide, the Law on Genocide is something only a lawyer could love.

Basically, genocide is an <i>intentional</> act to destroy a protected group in whole or part.  Both the Palestinian and Israeli populations are protected groups. The International Courts that have dealt with this have taken a very narrow view of intent. In writing, on tape or in front of a bunch of witnesses. Also, the security Council has declared that a state has a duty to prevent Genocide

One could pile up bodies left and right, without the intent, it maybe illegal for many reasons but it is not genocide. But an intentional act that only attempts without result is genocide,

Israel has been very careful to state their objective to destroy Hamas, not the people of Gaza i.e. not genocide.

On the other hand, the charter of Hamas is clear that they have an intent to destroy Jews and Israelis; There public statements say their intent to destroy is Israel and its citizens. What is “mountains to the sea” if not a call for ethnic cleansing.

Whatever the truth about the Israeli action (and I think they are clean), Hamas started and continued the war with the intent to commit genocide.  If the Popes investigation does not start it conclusion with this fact it will have no credibility.
