Selzer Iowa Poll

Democrats were giddy when the Selzer poll came out on Saturday showing Harris ahead of Trump in reliably red Iowa by three points.  Earlier this year Selzer had Trump ahead of Biden by eighteen points.  The Republicans this year matched Democrats, for the first time in Iowa, in early and mail in voting.  Republicans now lead Democrats by ten points in registered voters in Iowa, an increase by nine points since 2020.  When Selzer was questioned about her poll results, she did not know what D (Democrat) and R (Republican) meant in what is purportedly her poll.  The world’s dumbest billionaire, JB Pritzker, Democrat Governor of Illinois, knew about the poll results before they were released, and is rumored to be the monetary sponsor of the poll.  Harris hasn’t visited Iowa, nor run any television ads in Iowa.  A poll by Emerson, a respected pollster, dropped a few hours ahead of the Selzer poll, showing Trump ahead by ten points in the Hawk-eye State.  Color me less than impressed by this poll.

I’m still confused about the whole pole thing. Why do people care about poles? Is it bc of trees? Every state has poles…so what?

“The world’s dumbest billionaire, JB Pritzker, Democrat Governor of Illinois, knew about the poll results before they were released, and is rumored to be the monetary sponsor of the poll.”

Speaking of governors…. you might want to check out Tucker Carlson’s interview with Rod Blagojevich. I know both of them have certain issues and conservatives may want to take some of what they say with a grain of salt, but it is quite interesting to see Blago, whom I once considered the epitome of a crazed corrupt liberal Democrat, saying the Democrat party has gone off the deep end into being anti-American and anti-religion. He hasn’t quite given up his “I was a victim and didn’t do anything wrong” shtick, but his stint in prison does seem to have changed him considerably.

Besides justice, prison is supposed to have a positive affect. Ideally we can use it for a penitential action and turn our soul to God, and avoid eternal damnation. It is also why capital punishment has a most clarifying effect on the condemned. It gives them the opportunity to repent, suffer in this world and not eternally in the next.

Selzer admittedly sampled older women heavily, because in her model they are the most likely to vote; “high-propensity” voters, in the pollsters’ ugly jargon.

To borrow a phrase: color me shocked to learn that older [white–come on, we’re all thinking it] women are eager to make their opinion heard, especially those in the AWFL category.

Polls like this, with dubious methodology, create a plausible deniability when a party is planning vote fraud.

Late polling has more to do with trying to affect turnout than actual information.

  1. The democrats must be worried by turn out, they’re trying to give “hope”.
  2. So many new people have registered (majority being Republican this time) that comparison of historical poll data to any new poll data is not applicable.

Not to sound too cynical, but this one poll greatly reduced the betting spread on this election … It could simply be about money

The Australian news made me laugh today – apparently the weather plays a role in whether Democrat vote or not. If the weather is bad, Democrat voters stay home 😂…praying for a thunderstorm.

CAG has a point – the polls and bookies….? Around $100mill in bets have been placed as of 4 days ago.
