Go here to read the story. Most media operations run by the Church have zip value for the Faith.   Mother Angelica successfully fended off attempts by Bishops to control EWTN. During one such attempt she bluntly said: “I’ll blow the damn thing up before you get your hands on it!”
The Pope could cut the budget of media controlled by the Church to zero, and the Faith would be better for it.
Had a front row seat to watching bishops here try to manage a media company. I think I’ve said it before, but those guys couldn’t organize an eff in a brothel.
I have a suspicion you’d have to scrounge to find a diocesan chancery which was not a manifestation of Parkinson’s Law.

Lord, I miss Mother Angelica.
AD, my tattered copy of Parkinson’s Law is a treasure of my library. And I might add, that the Vatican also is an exemplar of precisely the wrong Peter Principle.
