Abide With Me

From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be rememberèd—
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

Henry V, Shakespeare

“That” is a beautiful tradition. As our generation knows and appreciates the truth that freedom isn’t free, I wonder about the entitlement generation. The fairy land that has been created and popularized by derelict parents leaves me to question the moxie needed to defend our shores, if God forbid, a draft was needed.

No. These parents, who’s children are living in their basement at 35 years old, would be willing to do anything to keep their child from defending freedom.

They have grown an entitlement society.

A beautiful tradition indeed.

Reminds me of my local 4H annually participating in the Memorial Day assembly. One of them is always drafted to read “In Flanders Field.”

(As an emigre to a red state, this amazed me the first time I saw it.)

May God bless those who dare to keep sane in a world running mad!

A Good tradition. Bless the children and their families. When we were in Europe my father took us children to many military cemeteries. He wanted us to understand the sacrifice. As an adult passing through Hawaii with him we went out to the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor and the Punch Bowl, a military cemetery in an extinct volcano crater. Later when my parents arrived in Manila a must stop was the American National Cemetery before heading to Cubi Pt/Subic Bay.
My father and 3 brothers were in the European theater of WWII. He had many USMC friends who fought in the Pacific.

These brave souls died for freedom and to break the backbone of tyranny. How they might wonder what happened to the United States of America if they could walk Constitution Avenue just one more time.

A reminder from the Heritage Foundation;

***Socialism is no longer a parlor game for academics but a political alternative taken seriously by millennials.

“They don’t recognize that much of what they enjoy in life is a result of capitalism and would disappear if socialism were to be implemented.”

This is the reality of socialism — a pseudo-religion grounded in pseudo-science and enforced by political tyranny.***

Who will come to our rescue if a tyrant proclaiming Forward measures catches the “sleeping” class by surprise?
Will the spell they are under be broken in time?
Or will re-education camps, sensitivity training and one world religion, which doesn’t include the intolerance from an outdated Bible, be mandatory on a people who cast their ballot out of ignorance.

Rant over….😬
